Areas of Operation
Jackson Hole Mountain Guides have been offering climbing adventures in Grand Teton National Park since 1968. JHMG also offers professional guiding services in the best climbing areas throughout the West. In addition to Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, we climb in Cody, Devil's Tower and the Wind River Range. We also guide in Montana's Beartooths, Moab, Utah, Red Rocks, Nevada, and Idaho's City of Rocks.

The Experience
Whether you join us for a day of rock climbing instruction, a guided rock climb, or a longer wilderness journey, we'll help you build new skills and find a new appreciation for the backcountry. Our top-notch climbing and wilderness guides are excellent mountaineers, cooks, educators, and naturalists. We keep our group sizes small to provide excellent service, safety, and unforgettable experiences. If you would like, we can help you design a special trip. We always strive to provide just the right experience.

The Environment
Jackson Hole Mountain Guides takes pride in its commitment to protect the environment and the wilderness. As a partner of Leave No Trace, we practice an ethic to preserve the wilderness experience. Our wilderness camping and travel practices are based on Leave No Trace principles.

We schedule our mountain ascents with an eye to keeping hiking groups small and unobtrusive. We believe that you and other wilderness visitors have come to enjoy the solitude and beauty of our great wilderness areas.

Passion for people and mountains are the stand-out characteristics our guides share. Jackson Hole Mountain Guides are exceptional climbers and wilderness leaders who have chosen a career to help others enjoy the mountains. They are educators who enjoy sharing their knowledge with those who wish to learn all they can about climbing and the wilderness environment. Our diligent guides work hard to provide challenging yet attainable goals.

Our Management
Jackson Hole Mountain Guides is owned and operated by four partners: Lantien Chu, Dan Heilig, Rob Hess and Phil Powers. Dan, Rob, Phil and Lantien first worked together at the National Outdoor Leadership School where they developed a common guiding philosophy based on safety, education, fun, and wilderness stewardship.
