About Us: Our Clients

Forsters, Grand Teton summit 2005

We at JHMG enjoy our clients' diversity and energy. Everyone on a climb has something to contribute, each bringing a unique blend of skills and backgrounds that enhance the experience of the entire group.

We look forward to welcoming back past clients for another adventure, and appreciate getting to know new faces each year.

Here's a small sample excerpted from past correspondence:

Thanks to Jackson Hole Mountain Guides for your time, effort and patience to get this old man to the top of the Grand Teton on my 60th anniversary climb. I am proud of you and your excellent climbing school." — Paul Petzoldt, the first Teton guide and founder of NOLS and Exum Guide Service

Thank you for taking us on the climb. It was such a blast! Being on the Grand was really neat and I hope to do more climbs like it. Thanks for teaching me many things! — Heather Berch, age 15 (recipient of Jim Ratz Memorial Scholarship)

You guys were awesome. I would suggest you three to anyone and the climb was great. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever done. — Eliah Penderson, age 16 (recipient of International Climbers Festival Scholarship)

I just wanted to say again that this trip was really the best I’ve ever been on. Pat and Nate were the perfect combination of encouraging, helpful, knowledgeable, and just really nice. — Paige Andre-Hudson

Enclosed are some photos of our training camp in the Hoback and on the Grand. I can’t tell you what a great time we had climbing with you. It was good to get to know JHMG too. I was impressed with its professionalism, focus on safety, and the personal attention that my son Luke and I received from the staff. It’s hard to imagine how you guys can maintain that level of intensity and professionalism all summer long. — Craig and Luke George

Joe and I wanted to again say thanks for an awesome trip. We were put at ease the second we walked into the guide shop on Monday night for a gear check. I would absolutely recommend JHMG to anyone who asks. Every single guide we met was approachable, professional, and fun to be around, making for a great time. I sincerely hope that our paths cross again some time. — Steve Widdoss

Thanks so much for hosting us at your beautiful camp. It was a very meaningful and memorable time for our family. [This was] the first ascent of the Grand for the boys and my first ascent since Alex’s death. The site of your camp with the spectacular summits wrapping around us was an idyllic starting point for our climb. So many wonderful memories in those lovely spires! — Jennifer Lowe

Thanks from all of us for making our expedition to the Grand such a wonderful time. Both Sam and Isaac enjoyed High Camp and the chance to stand on top of the Grand Teton. Your hospitality was exceptional! The usage of the hut really makes a difference. — Conrad

Wow! What can I say? Thank you! I never thought I’d climb again and you guys gave me the confidence and encouragement to do it again. Today’s hike was long, but the view well worth it. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with me. Thanks again. — Liz

The team at Jackson Hole Mountain Guides provided an extraordinarily enjoyable recreation experience. The site JHMG had us climb was perfect. It was challenging enough to make it interesting, but reasonable enough that every member of our team had success. The view of the Grand Tetons, and the scenery around the climbing site itself made it a consummate Jackson Hole experience. The JHMG team members were perfect. They gave just enough instruction and coaching to make us safe and successful, without making themselves the center of attention. The whole JHMG experience was head-and-shoulders above the typical corporate recreation outing. I’m trading my golf clubs for climbing shoes. — Joe Mallahan, V.P. Corporate Strategy, T-Mobile, U.S.A.
