Beartooth Wilderness: Other Select Climbs

Duration: 4 Days
Climb the most spectacular rock spire in the range! This tower, located on the side of Beartooth Mountain, is the namesake peak of the range, and is a unique and wild climb on good quality rock. Starting at the Glacier Lake trailhead, we’ll hike over Rearguard/Spirit Col to a camp the first day. The remainder of the day will be spent in rock climbing class or exploring the terrain. On the second day, we’ll either head for the summit or do more training, with a summit on the third day. On day four, we hike back out to the trailhead.

Teen Alpine Adventure Duration: 14 days
Teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 are eligible for our two week alpine expedition in the Beartooth Wilderness, where the focus will be on backcounty camping, rock climbing and mountaineering skills. Beartooth Mountain Treks
The Beartooths offer some outstanding possibilities for hiking. Jackson Hole Mountain Guides offers treks with optional non-technical summit attempts along the way. These high country explorations can run from four to thirteen days, and cover some of the most dramatic country in the Rocky Mountains. In addition to the trips below, we can also plan custom hikes to suit your needs and time schedule.
Sundance Pass Trek Duration: 5 Days
This spectacular trek starts at the Rock Creek Trailhead and heads up a majestic drainage bounded by massive granite cliffs and glacial streams to the north and south. We spend the first night at the edge of timberline at September Morn Lake. On day three we climb up Sundance Pass from which we can make a detour and make an attempt to summit Silver Run Peak (12,500'). From the summit it is a short but steep hike down to our camp near Sundance Lake. On days three and four, we can explore the Rock Creek Drainage with its many side tributaries and lakes as we make our way to the East Rosebud Trailhead.

Starting at Glacier Lake Trailhead, and ending at the West Stillwater Trailhead this incredible adventure covers the Beartooth Mountains from east to west. With literally hundreds of mountains to scale, scenic high plateaus to cross, and lakes teeming with trout to fish, this is a classic high mountain trek. With a resupply at the half way point, we will travel light.
