Rob Hess Receives AMGA Award
Rob Hess, an owner and guide at JHMG, won a prestigious award at the American Mountain Guides Association annual meeting in October 2007. Rob, who is both the AMGA Technical Director and an international, IFMGA Certified Guide, received the Outstanding Guide of the Year award.
The AMGA stated that "Rob impressively led the implementation of the AMGA's Training and Certification Program restructure. He did this with speed and urgency and with this, has left a legacy for all present and future American guides. This restructure will greatly benefit all candidates who aspire to become professional guides in the industry."
In the past, another award has been given to a JHMG owner, Jim Ratz. In 2005, Jim garnered the Lifetime Achievement in Mountain Guiding award, in recognition for his commitment and contributions to the profession of mountain guiding.
