Small Summiter
Asher Silver and his dad Nick climbed the Grand Teton with their guide, Jed Workman on August 23rd. Asher, having trained with us for a number of years, was ready for the mighty GT at the ripe age of nine! Jed reports Asher to be just slightly bigger than a smurf. . .
Asher and Nick, hailing from Great Britain, managed the climb of the Grand from Corbet High Camp and subsequent descent to the trailhead in 17 hours. Asher had a challenging climb...the hiking was hard, but the roped climbing was easy for him. He had his best time and performance on the upper mountain.
Nick decided many years ago that they would one day attempt the Grand Teton when at age three Asher saw the Grand and told his Dad he wanted to climb it. For the past several years Nick and Asher have been climbing with JHMG. They have climbed Disappointment Peak, part of the Snaz and Guide's Wall and have completed climbing courses.
