Rock Climbing Instruction: Cody

Cody, Wyoming, gateway to Yellowstone, offers excellent rock climbing and ice climbing opportunities. Rock climbs are located just minutes from town in the North Fork of the Shoshone River and world famous ice climbing is located in the South Fork of the Shoshone River. The South Fork contains the largest concentration of natural frozen waterfalls in the continental United States. Climbers of all abilities will find fun and challenging objectives.
Just two hours north of Cody, the Beartooth Mountains offer stunning scenery, wilderness, fishing, climbing, and hiking. Jackson Hole Mountain Guides offers rock climbing, wilderness treks, and mountaineering trips in this magnificient range. JHMG guides weekly ascents of Granite Peak, the highest point in Montana.

Introduction to ClimbingIf you have never climbed or just want to brush up your basic skills, this class is for you. During this introduction to rock climbing you will learn basic climbing terminology and commands, knots, belay and rope skills, be introduced to protection and anchor systems and learn the fundamentals of climbing technique and movement. Once you experience life in the vertical world, you will be hooked! No previous climbing experience necessary.
Price: $130 full day; $90 half-day. Intermediate Climbing ClassBuilding on the skills taught in our basic climbing class, this course gives students the tools necessary to bring their climbing to the next level. Students will be introduced to and practice the climbing techniques needed to complete longer, multi-pitch and more difficult routes, while refining their belay, rope and anchor building skills. Prior experience or Introduction to Climbing class required.
Price: $150 full day; $100 half-day. Advanced Climbing Class This class is designed for experienced climbers who want training in lead climbing, improvised rescue, or other advanced techniques. Prior experience or Intermediate Climbing class required.
Price: $180.Private Class One-on-one private instruction for beginning to intermediate climbers. We are always pleased to design just the right program to meet your specific goals. Open to all ability levels.
Price: $275; $160 half-day.Kids Rock! Kids love to climb and so do we. This is the perfect class for youngsters 12 and under and their parents. Your children can learn how to climb on the beautiful crags of the Great Yellowstone Area. We offer this special rate for three or more participants.
