Rock Climbing Instruction: Tetons

Offering courses for the beginner to advanced climber, JHMG can design special programs for corporate groups or private clubs. All ages are welcome—families should read more on our

Classes are taught in one of three scenic locations in either Grand Teton National Park or the Bridger-Teton National Forest. We will pick the area that best suits your needs.
All of our standard classes start at our Jackson office at 165 N. Glenwood, a block-and-a-half from the Jackson town square. Unless other arrangements are made, plan to arrive at our office at 8:30am, prepared for a full day of climbing. You'll want lunch, plenty of water, and appropriate clothing for climbing in the mountains. Please refer to our
equipment list, in PDF format, for an outline of what to bring. Typically, classes will be back to the office by 4:30pm.
Price quotes are per person in groups of two or more. All classes are available on a private basis.Basic Climbing A spirited introduction to climbing techniques, rope work, and safety. We build in lots of time for climbing. All ages welcome.
Price: $140Intermediate Climbing/Multi-Pitch Warm-Up A full day of rock climbing and multi-pitch techniques. This class will prepare you for multi-pitch rock climbs and for the high peaks. For people who have not climbed in some time, this class is a great opportunity to refresh their skills. Basic course or previous experience required.

Advanced Climbing For experienced climbers who want additional training or review in technique, lead climbing, protection placement, anchor building, or aid climbing. Maximum two participants.

Snow SchoolLearn to use the ice ax and practice techniques for ascent, descent, and safety systems on summer snow. This class is offered in early to mid summer when there is accessible snow. We’ll hike up to an appropriate snow slope, then cover a full range of topics, from step kicking to self arrest and glissading.
